1. Word Hunt
Find any fun words while reading this story? How about words where you're just not sure what they mean? Here's your chance to share them with the class. Mine this week is Warrior Space Soldier. Sounds like an interesting toy, right? Maybe it's like a Transformer or X-Man.
2. This book deals with some heavy themes- we have death, drinking and driving, depression, suicide. Do you think Andy should have been given a heavier sentence for his role in Rob's death? Do you think he thought he was doing the right thing by then killing himself? Why or why not?
3. What do you think is meant by "Tears of a Tiger?" Monty referred to it within his drawing, but do you think it had a deeper meaning?
4. Pick a scene in the book and rework it into a broadcast news story. Use the stories on page 1 and 20 as examples. Remember, your first sentence should have who, what, where and when- and then go into more details from there. Some possible scenes include: Andy's trial, outside the school after Andy's or Rob's death (Since they aren't in the book, how would you imagine them? What would you hear?)
5. Pick a conversation between Andy and one of his friends and write it from the friend's point of view. Is there something they said that they shouldn't have? What could they have said to get a different outcome?

30 Posts in 30 Days! Woo!/
Man, this is it. The last post of NaBloPoMo 2007, and I did it. \m/

W00t! Yay html coding! Yay for random thoughts!
I've had ten minutes of sleep since 8:00 last night, and thanks to one of those magically caffeinated caffe lattes, I'm still bouncing off the walls. Good times. Since I haven't been sleeping much, I haven't really been remembering my dreams. Until last night, and I'm still trying to decipher what it means. I think it means I should stop trying to analyze it and incorporate it into a story. Mmm, time for freewriting. How lovely would that be? I feel like my brain has been raked over the coals, like there's barely anything left in there right now to use to work on my three works in progress. However, a little gab session today helped get my brain off some of the issues bothering me. I posted an entry in my other journal the other day about how I was feeling lonely. Today helped with that, totally.
Still have to go dress shopping. Note how I keep putting it off. I think I look horrid in dresses anyway, so I don't know what I'm going to do. :/ But now is not the time for being low, it's a time to put on music, maybe start the laundry, and figure out a plan for this weekend that might include seeing a movie for the first time since July.
I'm in an Our Lady Peace Mood tonight. Not a rare thing, but very nice, very mellow. I think I'm due a little calmness after the wackiness that was my entire month.
Baby girl, stand up and fight
This is not some paradise
Oh it's just where we live
And finally you think you're alright
And that it eats you up alive
You better get used to it
Story about a girl
Story about the world
And are you waking up slowly
You're nothing but lonely
Are you waking up holding
Holding your breath

Conjunction Junction: What's your function/
Been singing this for two days now, still waiting for it to pop up on the old music player in hopes it gets the heck outta my head.
I love technology, really I do. But do I really need a Blogger and a Livejournal and a Myspace and a Facebook, etc.? I mean, I don't text or anything, I don't spend all day on a cell phone (I despise phones most of the time), but I manage to spend an inordinate amount of time surfing blogs and such. At least I don't have Insanejournal, GreatestJournal, blah blah blah and then some. Maybe it's my age, bridging Generations X and Y and trying to hold out. My story writing still gets done mostly by hand. I have a landline and only use my cell for emergencies (even though that includes the occasional call to my brother or my best friend).
I have this sudden urge to watch Finding Nemo tonight. Or Torchwood. Or, you know, the new episode of Supernatural.

So Alive/
I'd talk about something deep and meaningful, but right now it's easier to write fluff.
Memememememe.... youyouyouyouyouyouyou... Is meme pronounced "me-me" or "meeeeem"? Really, now that's a question plaguing the minds of teenage bloggers everywhere. Me, though, I just want the chance to play with my music.
1. Put Your itunes, windows media player etc on Shuffle
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS.
4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name.
1. If someone says “is this okay?” you say,
Last Night [ apparently not. ]
2. How would you describe yourself?
Crazy in Love (Snow Patrol Cover) [ With who? And why was I not aware of this? ]
3. What do you like in a guy/girl?

Everything to Everyone [ Eh? ]
6. What is your motto?
Siren [ Be noticed? I can do that! ]
7. What do your friends think of you?
Ghost [ That actually makes sense. ]
8. What do you think of your parents?
Back at Your Door [ We're close, and I'm always calling them for SOMETHING. <3 ]
9. What do you think about very often?
Someday [ all the dreamers in the room, raise your hands. ]
10. What is 2 + 2?
Downfall [ well, it's by matchbox 20? ]
11. What do you think of your best friend?
After The Rain Has Fallen [ Very true. ]

Bugs and Billboards
I want the Clap! No, not the disease. One of my friends in the blogging world has graciously linked me to Giant Microbes, a site where you can browse various bacteria and viruses... and then order a plushie version of them. My favorites are Chlamydia, MRSA, and The Mighty Neuron. Awesome.
I imagine these could be a great idea for a sex education class. Maybe. It's also possible that some of the students would just get hung up on the whole "cute plushie!!!1" part and miss the entire message. Could it be an appropriate gift for someone with one of these problems? Just think of it, you're laid up with a common cold and someone sends you a giant cold germ to snuggle as you get better.
It's actually somewhat disturbing.
Speaking of disturbing, I'm not sure why there haven't been any crashes near a Halloween billboard I drive by rather often. It's all in shades of oranges and browns, and it's advertising chocolate milk. The bottles are dressed in costume, but the advert is so busy and packed with info that to read what it was advertising, I had to slow my car to a near crawl and squint at it.
Song rec: How Far We've Come by matchbox twenty. I've really been feeling the Rob Thomas/mb20 lately, and I'm not sure why.

Bridges Over the Susquehanna
Well. Hello.
I was going to be uncreative and title my blog "Random Ramblings," but one of my co-workers always tells me that one day I'm going to write an expose of my time at work and call it "Bridges Over the Susquehanna." Bridges... you can build them or burn them, and I believe I'm in the process of doing the former. Goodness knows I've burned enough of them in the past.
Don't go looking for the expose, by the way. I have no desire to get sued, even though all the names would be changed to protect the guilty and all that jazz.
Getting to the random-
You know, I was getting ready for work yesterday, and trying to pick out an outfit. Seriously, if I had my way I'd be in a jeans and t-shirt. However, my best friend tells me that I'll never find myself a "good man" that way. Is it a hint that I'm not good-looking unless I'm a little dressed up? I mean, I'm not schlumpy or anything, I just like being comfy. What a double standard- guys looking like they just rolled out of bed while women are expected to look on all the time. What a crock.
